About
Fundamentals. Work Ethic. Passion.
Hustle Squad Basketball was founded in 2023, built on the lifelong passion of owner Corey Maclean. Recognising the need for high-quality, knowledgeable coaching for young players, Corey developed a program drawing on his own experiences as a long-time junior and NBL1 coach, designed to help children grow into confident, capable athletes.
Fundamentals. Work Ethic. Passion.
These are the core values of Hustle Squad Basketball.
Our Mission
To provide an environment where young players can learn and develop adaptable skills, work ethic, and the decision-making required to play basketball effectively.
The coaching philosophy at Hustle Squad is centred on the holistic development of players within a positive, supportive, and creative training environment that encourages exploration, problem-solving, and learning through play.
Our Coaching Philosophy
Hustle Squad Basketball lives and breathes by our coaching philosophy.
positive environment
I create a positive and supportive environment where players can thrive. My coaching emphasises constructive feedback, encouragement, and a question-based approach, encouraging players to explore solutions before being given answers. I want players to find comfort in the uncomfortable—empowering them to take risks, learn from mistakes, and understand that growth comes through challenge and experience.
Work Ethic & Passion
I aim to develop my players’ work ethic and passion for basketball by creating an environment where they enjoy practicing, competing, and learning. By fostering a genuine love for the game, players are motivated to engage fully, embrace challenges, and commit to continuous improvement for long-term success.
“By embracing these principles, I strive to not only develop skilled basketballers but also shape young individuals who are confident, resilient, and prepared to excel on the basketball court and life in general."
